I love the Freelance Whales.  And you should too.  So whimsical!  (Generator First Floor)
I've been reading this blog a lot lately. Oh, and I could read it for hours! Diane Comer is a wise and Godly woman, the wife to the pastor of one of my favorite churches in Portland, and head of woman's ministries there herself. She is gentle, and kind, and reminds me a lot of my own Mom. (A huge compliment if you've ever met my mom!) One of the sweetest things on her blog is her Letters to My Son    series. It's encouraging to be reminded of what a God centered relationship looks like, as she encourages her own son in waiting for and eventually pursuing the woman God created him to be with. She often writes to him about the example her own husband has set. And again, it reminds me of my own parents. I am reminded how lucky I am to have parents who adore and support each other the way mine do! My parents have the greatest love story because it's a story of work, and redemption, and God leading and teaching them. My dad is probably the cheesiest person you wi

I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;     in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me;     because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;     my flesh also dwells secure. –Psalm 16:7-9 ((Bellarive- Taste of Eternity))

Easy goin' morning.  Do you guys ever hang out with people who, simply out of their insecurities, need all the attention to feel appreciated?  Instead of just restin' up easy and knowing with confidence that life is so good they kind of have to be loud and crazy just to feel like they're the life of the party.  ... those people just bum me out. They're draining to be around. And I've been around a lot of them lately!  I just shrink back, ya know? Because it's not a competition so if you want the spotlight, you can have it.  What I'm getting at though is that life is just crazy! And everyone handles it differently so it can be easy to get lost in the mix. Sometimes you just need to fill yourself up with what you know is true and good and you in life.  With that being said none of the following is me but it sure does make me happy :)  Just, aspirations let's call them.  This is easily one of the weirdest/creepiest videos yet.

I've been having fun looking over NPR's top lists of albums and songs this year.  Some of them are great! Some of them made me angry. (Call Me Maybe? Really? That's good marketing, not music.) Some are a little kooky. And most I've never heard! Which I appreciate. Super fun. Some of my favorites:  "Who" by David Byrne (from The Talking Heads) and St. Vincent (From awesome indie female guitaristness)  I'm a big St. Vincent fan. She's always sort of haunting, constantly genius, and her videos never fail to creep me out but somehow keep me from looking away every single time.  Matt Ulery, Album By a Little Light All of the songs I've listened to off of it so far have this juxtaposition about them of  this whimsical chiming of marimba and piano and glockenspiel but all the while with an intense build to it too. It's really fun! Give it a listen.  "To Lose Your Mind"  Regina Spektor, Album What We S
