Scatterbrain: My life as of late.

Today I listened to a lot of this: The Dear Hunter, Matt Costa, Copeland, Dustin Kensrue and Margot and the Nuclear So and So's.  I did some exploring by myself. A grand solo  expedition ! One of my favorite and simultaneously least favorite things to do.  With no one else to think about, you're free to take your time and explore any cove, alley, nook and cranny your little heart desires all up the western coast!   So today I woke up, played some guitar, did some yoga, ate fruit and honey for breakfast, showered and packed up! I know, it's not fair right? I'm jealous of myself right now.  I drove up the coast winding through all the little sections of San Diego through bird rock and up to La Jolla which is where I decided I loved Bird Rock and hated La Jolla. Too snooty for this girl; drivers honking at each other for silly things like leaving the stop sign at the same time, tall ritzy shops...   So I went back down to bird rock grabbed some

Things I love this week: This Aristotle quote: "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." And this Neil DeGrasse Tyson quote: "  T here is no shame in not knowing. The problem arises when                  irrational thought and attendant behavior fill the vacuum left by ignorance." Cirque Arts. After watching an intermission cirque performance at a fashion show this spring I fell in love with the easily accessible art/ exercise. Running away to the circus always seemed so far fetched but there's more classes around then you'd think! I'm definitely thinking about taking it up when I settle in in the fall. I  particularly love the Lyra: and the silk ribbons:  This awesome video of Steve Martin. Always a favorite.  This awesome video of the band Dead Feather Moon I was telling y'all about.   Another blog I check often is  Volcomunity . Vol

I can't get this song out of my head. Andrew Bird is incredibly talented and definitely one of my very favorites.  Enjoy, Koko

Where do I begin?? My life has been so incredible these past couple weeks and honestly, I hate to talk about it so much because it feels like I'm bragging, but I am seriously overwhelmed with how good life has been. I have to share! And not to rub it in anyone's face, but just because I'm so excited about it! Grateful does not even begin to describe it.  It's almost  as if every childhood dream I ever thought up is suddenly coming true! Let's start with Thursday night. We go to the big County Fair  where Switchfoot is playing. Now, I've never been lucky enough to live by the ocean but that doesn't mean that I'm not 99.9% salt water by birth rights. I love the ocean and it has a HUGE part of my soul. So when they brought out  Tom Curren  to play a song with them I just about died. My inner twelve year old was screaming her head off. We heard that Swicthfoot's annual Bro Am , a surf competition they hold every year, was actually

So I've been getting a lot of people telling me that I look just  like  Lindsey Stirling  the amazing violinist from America's Got Talent. She's extremely talented and beautiful so I'm not complaining!  (Because you know, when you look like someone that obviously  means you're talented like them too... right? Isn't that how it works?)  This is her most well known video.  (I do not, repeat do not, endorse dubstep.)  What do you guys think? I can kind of see it. The video is by  Devin Graham  who makes amazing videos on youtube, check his stuff out!  I'll keep working on my violin skills.  In the meantime, I've compiled a list of things I forgot about Southern California:  Everyone drives insane. When the speed limit is 45 the speed of traffic is 85. Literally.  On that note, most everyone is impatient.  Everyone drives BIG, beautiful trucks.  June Gloom.  It smells wonderful all the time Just how much I
